Yesterday, I had ninja-do grading for the 2nd time this year!
I had dinner just before grading so I was rushing like crazy to get outta the house and to Ayer Rajah CC!!
I spotted ZR and he told me that I was the last one even though I arrived a lil just after 7pm! Great. On my 3rd grading, I hope I remember to be there by 6.30pm instead of 7pm =S Everyone was waiting for me up on the 2nd floor to start the warm ups, and that made me doubly anxious, cos the lot were practising their moves while I didn't have much time for that day to do so =( I signed the attendance list quickly and noted no. 22, or rather Group 2, no. 2!Oddly enough we skipped some warm up steps...so fortunately the ones I did before arriving to the exam venue kinda helped a lil with my flexibility! I'm still pretty bad, but whatever, at least I've improved heaps since Jan! Think I should go do research on nutrition and more, if i ever want to do splits in the future...
When it came to my group's turn(consisting of 3 people), I was half spacing out, since there were so many black belts looking at us all(black belt overload)!!! 1st was pushing kick...and one of the middle kicks was the yoyatsu. Good news about this: I didn't trip myself over and jump like in most of the classes! Bad news: I kicked a lil too low =(
On to kata! I did it ok, though it's a blur to me now, and I don't exactly remember how it went apart from 1 wrong footing but I corrected it after the next step! Great. I remembered shouting "ers!" after all the punches but now I'm debating how loud I shouted for the last punch! That's one of the reasons why I'm so scared =(( YX froze during one part of the kata, and she told me much later that it freaked her out to see all the black belts' eyes on her!
Knife defense was ok for me, though I believe I could have done better too! If I ever do go on to the next belt, I think I should go for the sunday class too since apart from thurs cls I don't practice at home!
Grading ended quite early, like around 8pm or so! There was no brown belt grading so I suppose it ended quite fast...Fetched ZR back to Jurong after grading...and I am anticipating another person to fetch in about 3 months' time XD
Went online when I got home to chat with people! My fingers were busy answering about 3 or 4 windows at a time!
That's all for now...I'd be off for lunch(and maybe more things in the afternoon, I hope!) It's been a sluggish Monday so far, and a public hol at that!
