Hey all!
Before August starts tomorrow, let me post one entry for July 1st!
Quite a no. of things happened since June! I've gotten a job, tried this buffet at Pan Pacific Hotel on my Godfather's birthday, became the assistant IC for ninja-do, made new friends, went to gawk at the mid yr cosfest at downtown east...and more!
If i'm not wrong, I remember meeting up with 1 friend of mine from sec sch to eat at Saizeriya at Liang Court since she recommended it =X But I didn't like it much cos the seafood risotto was a lil too fishy for my liking, not to mention that it was a lil strange that the base tasted suspiciously like tomato ketchup! On the same day we tried the tampopo cream puffs...and I had a sense of deja vu while patronising the same shop, since I believe that some of the food I came across in colour were found in the manga Kitchen Princess(yeah, I read lotsa food manga, u nvr knw what u may learn in some of them haha!)
I quite enjoyed the dinner at Global Kitchen cos of the company and the desserts...the soups were fine, but the mains such as the beef were a lil overcooked! I skipped the salads and helped myself to the cheese =D There were 10 ppl in total that day! I remember sitting in between my Godfather and my cousin's gf at the round table, and the sound system was horrendous =X since the so-called music that we heard was mainly background music such as the beats! Je was plenty annoyed with the service since our table was the furthest from the buffet spread and kitchen, so we received little attention from the staff for most of the time!
My cousins and I were talking about watching The Blood Pledge, but up to now there's no word of plans(cos of NS, work commitments, yadda yadda), so I guess it'll be the next horror movie that comes out(or maybe not! =( )
Couldn't believe that Je gave me this horrified look when I tried the raw oysters since I'm not the only 1 at the table doing that... Furthermore, he picked up this raw shark meat thingy atop some green veg from the buffet table and asked me to help him eat half of it =S luckily it had a clean taste, or I'd have dumped some of the contents from my plate onto his lol. My Godmother was surprised that I liked cheese?! Jeez. Just because I'm currently skinny/slim/whatever ppl think of my frame right now doesn't mean I don't eat cheese! If only ppl quit saying /accusing me of being anorexic, because I'm not! There's no point mentioning why i'm now this size, because no one really cares, and if they did it's prolly cos they wana use it as gossip fodder, so the best option is to keep it to myself.
Back to topic! At the dessert table I tried to scoop up some vanilla icecream(the bean version!), cos apparently they set the freezer to low tens or so, and succeeded in getting tiny blobs instead with each scoop! My cousin Je offered to help while I was trying on the sesame seed, but before that I demo-ed on the scooping! I scooped with 1 hand, then used both hands, and passed it to him! My cousin thought I was trying to be funny, until HE did it himself lol.
Not much to say about mid yr cosfest, apart from the crowd, facing several impatient friends, the rain and watching Twilight's 3rd instalment!
I'll continue this post sometime soon! Just heard that I'm going to Je's hse for my Grandmother's bdae! Sent my condolences to J's family, cos the rabbit Bits just died! Hope the guys do jamming, if not then guitar hero!
